During lock down members of the club been taking it in turns to lead warm up and training sessions via zoom. Recent video's below. You can also search on YouTube for "Lance Larson Fencing" or "Kingston Fencing Club (UK)".
Lance and Oksana teach us exercises that we will build on in later videos, then Seville leads the cool-down stretch.
No sparring – only individual activity. Therefore no masks / jackets etc required.
U18’s please include a parent / guardian in your plans for attending.
As host, I am not recording this (video or audio).
No need to bother about backgrounds but do ask for support from your household to ensure you have a safe area.
Allow enough space to move several metres. A hallway might be enough. Take a look for hazards eg trips. If outdoors, shadow your screen from the sun.
If there are two or more participants with blades in the same household then the space must prevent any danger.
The Zoom training is free to members. For non-members we ask for a voluntary contribution of £3 - £5 per Zoom session to cover club costs.
Please use the bank details contained in our membership form quoting a reference of "ZOOM_name" where "name" is your Zoom screen name.
Thanks in advance for your contribution as it helps support the club in these difficult times.
Consider wireless headphones if you have them, however we find that using a Bluetooth speaker is OK while you are on mute. Example wireless headphones (not endorsed but just to give idea).
No need for any account or download. You can join with any device eg mobile phone / tablet / PC; just click the main link or paste to browser address bar.
Aim a camera to give coach enough view. Items suck as a goose-neck clip might help. Examples from ebay (no endorsement, just aiming to help show the sort of thing - search gooseneck mobile phone holder):
UK Seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/233587420537
China Seller https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/372581685076
Another possible set-up could be to put a laptop on a chair with camera angled to include feet, then phone with the participant with headphones (or speaker). Many equipment options!
